Welcome to a personal Catholic community

  • Personal

A personal parish allows the laity to move beyond a more generic form of parish life to experience creative ways of being Catholic.

While most personal parishes are based on particular ethnic affiliations, Sacred Heart has been set apart for other reasons that are we are in the process of defining.

We invite you to join us to discover if we might be the sort of parish that calls to you at whatever stage of life or state of grace you find yourself in.

  • Intentional

An intentional parish is an option for Catholics who find that their particular needs are best fulfilled outside the territorial parish in which they reside.

Anyone may attend services and activities at Sacred Heart Parish and all are encouraged to register as a parishioners.

By designating Sacred Heart an intentional parish, the Archdiocese of Boston has ensured that it will maintain full canonical status and the stability that this provides.

  • Innovative

We have embraced the Vicar General’s call to open our parish to new ways of serving those who are called to an active parish life.

We celebrate the opportunity to work together with others who are interested in growing closer to God through liturgy, faith formation and service.

We look forward to growing as a parish and hope that you will consider joining us in developing the path forward.

Pope Francis Reflects on Parish Life

“Parishes should be close-knit communities, without bureaucracy, people-centered—a place where the gift of the sacraments can be found.”

“They have to become once again schools of service and generosity, with their doors always open to those who are excluded. And to those included. To all…”

-Pope Francis, February 2023 Monthly Intention
