Time Commitments for Communications team Members
Photographing parish events may involve a brief commitment, the amount of time it takes to snap a photo and send it to a member of the communications committee or could involve offering to take a series of photos for a major event. All contributions are welcome.
Ministry Liaisons are essential in designing communications associated with their ministries. The quality of these communications depends heavily on these parishioners, who provide text, photos, and drafts of forms to be used in their ministries. The time commitment varies with the goals of the communication.
Tech support is sporadic and takes up to 5 hours per week. Varied technical experience is essential for volunteers in this area.
Constant Contact mailings take up to 10 hours per mailing. Familiarity with photography, church organization, and marketing is helpful. Flexibility in responding to the changing needs of volunteers in other ministries is also helpful.
Managing the website takes up to 20 hours per week. Familiarity with marketing, photography, and church organization is helpful. Flexibility in responding to the changing needs of volunteers in other ministries is also helpful.
If you are interested in managing a unique social media account or communication tool for the parish, we would be happy to hear from you. We are unsure about the time commitment involved, but experience leads us to believe that you should allow extra time when planning to set up and manage a new communication tool.
