haley house
Haley House is a Dorothy Day Catholic Worker House serving members of the Boston community. Its main aims are feeding the hungry and clothing the needy. It also provides an outreach component to identify those "on the street" who need support and referral to other services.
Staff includes Catholic Worker volunteers who serve at the house for at least one year, with others remaining for a longer stay. The House has served Boston for over 60 years and has a "Dorothy Day Suite" where Dorothy stayed on one of her visits many years ago.
From September through June, our group of cooks provides a hot meal of beef stews and juice to those who drop into Haley House for a meal. Throughout the year, a significant amount of used men’s clothing is collected and dropped off at Haley House. New socks, underwear, and travel-size personal care items are always needed and may be left in the large container on the front of the stage in the Parish Center.
If you're interested in contributing to Haley House, we welcome your support. Whether it's providing meals, donating clothing, or toiletries, please feel free to reach out to Neil Hegarty or Lee Crivello. They will guide you on the best way to make a difference.
